ZF, electrical modulation, early production
When the injection pump throttle arm is in the full throttle position, the opposite edge of the adjusting arm should be 0.2 mm or max. 0.5 mm from the edge of the shoulder on the position indicator marked "high". Incorrect adjustment will have a negative effect on the gear-changing points.
Concerning the Voith automatic transmission, see Service Manual, Section 3 (36-38), Electrical System.
ZF electrical modulation, late production
When the injection pump throttle arm is in the full throttle position, the boss on the adjusting arm should be in line with the longer adjusting boss (1) on the modulator. This is checked by feeling with the fingers that the bosses are opposite each other. The check can be carried out both at the end's and the top side's boss (1).
When the injection pump throttle arm is in the low idle position, the adjusting arm boss should coincide with the shorter adjusting boss (2) on the modulator. Any adjustment to the modulator setting must always be done in the full-load position.
