76 Check the rims for cracks and rust. Check the wheel nuts manually with a fixed spanner.
77 Check tread depth. Follow the legislation on this. Check valve caps and valve extensions. Spare wheel and retainer: check condition and attachment.
 Check the flat tyre warning device. Bend the sensor bars and check the warning light.
 When changing a tyre, make sure a new one is of approved type intended for the bus's normal load and speed, also make sure the tyre sizes agree with those specified for the vehicle.

Checking, maintaining and installing wheels

Cracked rims must not be welded, replacement only.

IMPORTANT! It is most important that the contact surfaces against the brake drum and on the outside of the wheel nuts are clean. The most suitable way to clean is by blasting or using a rotating steel brush.

When changing wheels, re-tighten the wheel nuts after a short test run and after 199 km to the recommended torque.
